I am now safely ensconced in the rennie campground at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival and I want to thank everyone who made my record breaking first weekend here! I have a brand new Wizard and Dragon called 'The Companions' which I would like to share with you. I'm looking forward to the rest of Pittsburgh and then I'll be doing the Texas Renaissance Festival for the first time ever. I hope I'll enjoy that show too!

On the way to finishing 'The Philosophers' I really felt the need to start in on 'Nights Cathedral' essentially a fairy piece. I worked on both pieces simultaneously, which is unusual for me and finished them both very close to the same time, and here they are.

New Dragons

I have a funny silly dragon I just finished and another more serious dragon I'm working on. The first is called 'Too Many Late Knights' and the dragon has definitely overindulged. The second I want to be a mix of beautiful colors to suggest beautiful ideas.It's called 'The Philosophers' and it's just started.

I have just come back from the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival, which was lovely. Nice people who run the fair, and great to work with. I thank everyone of the new customers who found me, liked my work, and purchased it! Who would have thought that Muskogee, Oklahoma had a great fair, and it does! I'm looking forward to going back next year. The owner is building a new Italian Piaza which should be near the dragon stage and I should be in that new building in 2011.

I didn't like the tree with no leaves on my new unicorn 'Dancing in the Moonlight' so I went back and spent two more weeks adding leaves and fairies!

It's been a long time since I've painted a unicorn, but I thought it was way overdue. The funny thing is, a lot of the time I have to wait until the idea hits before I can go in a certain direction! Here's the newest.

I've had an interesting last few months and I've been so busy I could hardly turn around, but 4 months is a long time to go without a blog, so here goes. Here are a few of about 8 pencil drawings I intend to turn into paintings so you'll have an idea of what's coming up. I'm also happy to anounce a new 3 week show in Florida in Key Biscayne at the first of 2010. Check out my schedule, yes I updated that too, to get directions.

In answer to your requests I've just finished another dragon, which is called 'Clockwork Dragon' because it is painted to look like a fabrication of a dragon done in segments held together with gold pins with a keyhole in its side to wind it up.

Where has the time goneω When I'm this busy it seems as if it just slips through my fingers. Since last month I have painted two new paintings. I'm going to post the newest one now and as soon as my husband sends me the CD of the one I finished at home I'll post it as well. When I go to a long show or renaissance festival it seems I always forget to take something!

Right now I'm in the wilds of Spotsylvania, Va where the Virginia Renaissance Festival is held at the Lake Anna Winery. The show is held both in a meadow and in the woods behind the winery in a lovely setting. It's a small show, and a fairly new one, but they are trying very hard to make it grow and it's convenient to do. I like the camp grounds where I stay in my little travel trailer because they are right on Lake Anna where I can go swimming when it gets really hot out. The lady who runs the Rocky Branch Marina and Campground where I stay collects all of the stray cats that people throw out of their cars to fend for themselves. This is a practice that really should be stopped. We all need to take our animals to a shelter if they're not wanted and not dump them where they can starve or get run over. I'm an animal lover and like to donate to her fund. she has all of the cats spayed or neutered and feeds them. They are the lucky ones!
